Full-Time Special Education Teacher (Contracted by ProCare Therapy)

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming 2023-24 school year in Accord, NY!  As a contracted full-time Special Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Create engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and abilities.
  • Provide instruction and support to students with various disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and physical disabilities.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement effective educational plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field 
  • Valid NY teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Contract Details: This is a full-time contract position for the 2023-24 school year. As a contracted Special Education Teacher with ProCare Therapy, you will receive competitive compensation and benefits. The specific terms of the contract will be discussed during the interview process.
